Meagan Chandler has always had a passion for music, singing, dance, teaching and travel. A native of Boulder, Colorado, she has traveled to Spain, Morocco, the Emirates, New Zealand and beyond in search of the essence of the art forms that have shaped her. Her studies over the past 13 years include Jazz, Choral, Spanish Flamenco, Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Balkan music and dance. Her flamenco experience includes extensive time in Jerez de la Frontera, with study under Ana Maria Lopez, and La Chiqui de Jerez; studies in New Mexico with El Yiyi, Chuscales, and Felix de Lola; and singing for the Maria Benitez Next Generation Company and Carlota Santana‘s Project Ole all over the States. She has studied Middle Eastern forms with Nasr Musa, Mamak Khadem, and George Lammam and has performed with master drummer Souhail Kaspar. She has also studied intensively in various creative and healing movement forms with Melissa Michaels, Melony Murphy, and Jenna Woods. Meagan has worked with Colorado based musical groups Ojaleo, Sherefe, and many more. She has collaborated on two full length albums with guitarist Steve Mullins, titled Ojaleo and Agua y Sombra, mixing traditional music with original compositions. She currently performs, records, leads workshops and teaches privately in Colorado and New Mexico.
